A case manager is a person responsible for assisting an injured worker through their workers compensation injury claim. The case manager may be mobile, assisting a worker with their injury claim onsite in a treatment clinic or in the workplace.
Case managers are able to approve the services delivered by treating service providers and engage return to work service providers when barriers to returning to work are present. For registered employers, the case manager is employed by one of two claims agents: Gallagher Bassett or Employers Mutual Limited. Case managers work closely with the injured worker, treating service providers, and return to work service providers to aid in a safe and sustainable recovery for the injured worker.
